Edinbrook Elementary holds second annual Wisdom Begins with Wonder

Wisdom Begins with Wonder was Edinbrook Elementary School’s second annual AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) event for families to participate throughout the school. Each grade dedicated an activity themed for students and family members to engage in hands-on activities to learn about the science of musical instruments, medicine, density and more.

At least 200 families and scholars participated in the afterschool science event on March 23. Participants were greeted at the door by teachers and principal, Aaron Krueger, who was excited to welcome people back to the school.

“It seems like people have really wanted to return in-person, and this is a great way for families to see what our school does,” Krueger said.

After meeting the welcoming staff, families entered the gym, where they received a score card to mark once they completed each station. Fifth grade student council members helped to direct people and lead stations. This was a great way for student leaders to learn more about the event planning process.

One fifth grade student council member said, “It was a lot of work getting this together, but I’m excited for people to be here.”

The success of the event left teachers, staff and students excited to plan next year’s event.
